Driving Digital Heritage Forward: TMO at Europeana 2025

Preserve. Protect. Reuse.
11–12 June 2025 | POLIN Museum, Warsaw & Online

The Time Machine Organisation was proud to contribute to Europeana 2025, a hybrid conference held under the patronage of the Polish Presidency of the Council of the EU, in close collaboration with the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage, the National Institute of Cultural Heritage, and the POLIN Museum of the History of Polish Jews in Warsaw.

Bringing together cultural heritage professionals from across the continent, this year’s theme — Preserve, Protect, Reuse — perfectly aligned with our mission to connect Europe’s past with its digital future.

Our Highlights

  • Sander Münster, Secretary of TMO, led a dynamic session on 3DBigDataSpace, one of TMO’s flagship projects, highlighting the potential of 3D data in shaping Europe’s cultural infrastructure.
  • Julia Noordegraaf (Amsterdam Time Machine & former TMO board member) delivered an inspiring keynote on “The Time Machine Effect: Innovation through Cultural Heritage Data,” exploring how historical data can drive transformative change.
  • TMO projects 3D-4CH Online Competence Centre and 3DBigDataSpace were showcased at dedicated booths and workshops, engaging both onsite and online audiences in hands-on innovation.

Strong Ties, Shared Vision

We are especially proud of our enduring relationship with Europeana — Harry Verwayen, Director General of Europeana, served on the TMO board until 2023, and the ongoing synergy between our communities was clearly felt throughout the event.

From workshops and exhibitions to keynotes and coffee conversations, Europeana 2025 reaffirmed the importance of data-driven collaboration in preserving our shared heritage — and Time Machine Organisation is committed to continuing this vital work.
