Are you working on a cultural heritage project that deserves to be recognised across Europe?
Are you working on a cultural heritage project that deserves to be recognised across Europe? Whether you’re an individual, a team, or part of an organisation, the European Heritage Awards / Europa Nostra Awards 2026 offer a unique opportunity to spotlight your achievements and gain Europe-wide recognition.
Launched by the European Commission in 2002 and run by Europa Nostra, the Awards celebrate excellence in safeguarding and promoting cultural heritage across Europe. Supported by the Creative Europe programme of the European Union, they highlight the remarkable dedication of professionals, researchers, educators, volunteers, and citizens who keep our shared heritage alive.
For the 2026 edition, applications are now open until 9 September 2025. Submissions are welcome in five key categories:
• Conservation & Adaptive Reuse
• Research
• Education, Training & Skills
• Citizens’ Engagement & Awareness-raising
• Heritage Champions
Winning an award offers more than prestige. It brings visibility across Europe, the chance to connect with a vibrant network of heritage professionals and supporters, and even the possibility to win a €10,000 Grand Prix or Public Choice Award. Past winners have benefitted from increased media coverage, new partnerships, and additional funding opportunities.
To help you prepare a strong application, Europa Nostra is organising two free webinars titled “How to prepare an application for the European Heritage Awards / Europa Nostra Awards 2026”. The content is the same for both sessions, so you can choose the one that fits your schedule:
- Friday, 23 May 2025 | 12:00–13:00 CEST
- Monday, 30 June 2025 | 16:00–17:00 CEST
Participation is free, but registration is mandatory. You’ll find more information and the registration links on the official website.
