From 20–22 May 2026, Lisbon will host Culture Converge 2026, the annual conference of the European Network of Cultural Centres (ENCC), bringing together cultural practitioners, policymakers, artists, and innovators from across Europe and beyond.

Hosted by Carpintarias de São Lázaro, an independent multidisciplinary arts space in the heart of Lisbon, the event will explore the role of socio-cultural centres as key actors in strengthening democracy, fostering dialogue, and bridging societal divides.

Under the theme of culture as a driver of democratic participation, participants will engage in panel discussions, workshops, and collaborative sessions designed to address pressing societal challenges and develop innovative, cross-sectoral strategies.

The conference is open to a wide range of stakeholders: from cultural professionals and creatives to academics, students, and policymakers creating a unique space for exchange, networking, and co-creation.
