The AI for Developing Countries Forum (AIFOD) will convene its Geneva Summit 2026 from 12–14 August 2026 at the United Nations Office at Geneva (Palais des Nations). The summit will bring together ministers, researchers, entrepreneurs, civil society leaders and technology experts from more than 50 countries to discuss inclusive and sovereign approaches to artificial intelligence.
Held under the theme “Small Takes the Lead”, the summit will explore how AI can support sustainable development through collaboration, open innovation and digital sovereignty. The programme includes discussions on AI governance, multilingual AI, open-weight models, shared digital infrastructure, and opportunities for small enterprises, nations and local innovation ecosystems. Participants will also contribute to discussions on the proposed Geneva Compact on AI Sovereignty.
The three-day programme features keynote addresses, policy dialogues, technical sessions and working groups designed to foster international cooperation and practical action in the field of artificial intelligence. Attendance is open to registered delegates, with applications currently available through the organisers.
