The world of cultural work is changing. The question is: are we driving the change, or is it driving us?
Join Michael Culture Association (MCA) for its Annual Forum in Budapest, taking place on 3, 4 and 5 December 2026. As a cross-sectoral and cross-domain European network, MCA observes how digital technologies are reshaping every corner of the cultural sector and, in particular, our working journey as professionals: the way we create, preserve and share heritage; the way we engage communities;
the way we train, collaborate, advocate, and more.
Organised with the support of the Museum of Applied Arts, the Institut Français of Hungary and the Creative Europe Desk Hungary, the forum is a space for cultural professionals, practitioners, creators, researchers, students, young professionals and policymakers to work through this
transformation together.
A space for collective reflection, built around two core questions:
- How do we adapt? What new skills, methods and practices do we need to keep doing our work well in a changing landscape?
- How do we stay proactive? How do we uphold our missions and ensure that culture plays an active role in shaping the ethical and democratic dimensions of digital, rather than simply undergoing them?
And behind both: what training, knowledge and resources do we actually need to get there?
Over three days, the programme will bring participants through interactive sessions, workshops, roundtables and open conversations. Participation is 100% in person and free of charge.
