How can digital technologies support the protection, documentation, and preservation of cultural heritage? The REVITALISER Summer School 2026 brings together researchers, heritage professionals, and technology experts for an intensive learning experience at the intersection of cultural heritage, digital innovation, and security.
Organised within the EU-funded REVITALISER project, the Summer School is supported and co-organised by the 3D-4CH Online Competence Centre in 3D for Cultural Heritage. It aims to strengthen professional skills and foster interdisciplinary collaboration by combining expert lectures with hands-on training.
Taking place in Limassol, Cyprus, from 26 to 30 October 2026, the programme is designed for Master’s and PhD students, researchers, heritage professionals, surveyors, archaeologists, architects, criminologists, and conservation experts interested in advancing their knowledge of innovative approaches to cultural heritage protection.
Participants will explore a range of topics, including:
- Reality-based surveying and 3D documentation workflows
- Multiscale data acquisition techniques
- Remote sensing and AI-based analysis approaches
- Cultural property protection, legal frameworks, and heritage crime prevention
The Summer School combines theoretical sessions with practical fieldwork activities. Working in teams under expert guidance, participants will develop a mini project applying the methods and technologies introduced throughout the programme.
The programme brings together expertise from leading institutions, including the ERATOSTHENES Centre of Excellence, Maastricht University, Barcelona Supercomputing Center, and Fondazione Bruno Kessler, with tutors contributing expertise across digital heritage, 3D documentation, AI, remote sensing, and cultural heritage protection.
As part of its commitment to capacity building and knowledge exchange, 3D-4CH will support the participation of two selected professionals by covering the registration fees. Applicants interested in this opportunity can indicate their interest during registration.
Join this international learning experience to build practical skills, exchange knowledge with experts and peers, and explore how digital technologies can contribute to safeguarding cultural heritage.
