Venue: Kulturcafé Max, Mariengasse 1, 1170 Vienna, Austria
Participation: free admission

The Salon der Kulturen opens its 2025 Spotlight series with a focus on the cultural crossroads of Anatolia. Designed to foster transnational dialogue, the series highlights artistic voices from both the country of origin and its diasporic communities in Austria.

Under the title “Anatolian Crossroads │ Kesişim Noktası: Anadolu”, the event explores the multilayered cultural landscape of Türkiye—shaped by diverse ethnic, religious, and social groups. These intertwined identities are also reflected within Austria’s Turkish diaspora.

The evening will be shaped by the ensemble DuenDemet, featuring musicians Seçil İlker and Selen İrez, and actor/storyteller Demet Kavut Holly. Together, they combine traditional and contemporary songs with poetic storytelling, creating a space for artistic reflection on identity, belonging, and cultural coexistence.

Since 2010, the Salon der Kulturen has offered an interdisciplinary platform for artists, cultural practitioners, and audiences across Vienna. The programme is organised by EDUCULT and supported by the City of Vienna (MA7) and the Austrian Federal Ministry for Arts and Culture.
