Time Machine Organisation Community Showcase

Date: 29 May 2026 │ Full day │ 3D Applications & Creation

Venue: Online via Zoom (Access will be shared in due time)

What is the Community Showcase?

The Community Showcase is an online event series within the Time Machine Academies, designed as a shared space for members of the Time Machine Organisation network to present and discuss their work. This Academy will focus on 3D technologies and their applications in Cultural Heritage.

Whether you are developing new acquisition methods, building reconstruction tools, experimenting with innovative ways to visualise 3D data, or applying 3D environments in research and practice, this is an opportunity to share your work, questions, and experiences with peers across the network.

The Showcase is intended to encourage exchange, make ongoing work across the network more visible to one another, and open conversations that may lead to future collaboration.

Introducing the Time Atlas

This Academy furthermore introduces the Time Atlas, an infrastructure for collecting, organising, and accessing diverse cultural heritage data within a spatial and temporal framework. The Atlas supports a range of data types, including 3D content, with particular attention to provenance and citation.

The session will provide a general overview of the platform, with a dedicated segment addressing the role of 3D data within the Time Atlas.

Furthermore, we will explore how the Time Atlas can amplify its impact across the network of the Time Machine Organisation’s Local Time Machines through interactive exchange and collaboration.

The Session

3D Acquisition, Creation and Applications (29 May 2026)

This session brings together contributions spanning the full 3D pipeline — from capture and creation through to real-world application. It welcomes work on methods, workflows, and tools for 3D acquisition, modelling, digitisation, reconstruction, and content creation, as well as contributions exploring how 3D data and environments are used in practice, including analysis, visualisation, interpretation, interaction, dissemination, and reuse across different domains.

Presentation format

Each presentation will last 15 minutes, including time for discussion. The session will take place online via Zoom in the afternoon (CET). The overall duration of the full event will depend on the number of selected contributions.

Sessions may be recorded and shared via the Time Machine Organisation website and communication channels to allow broader access within the community.
