The Virtual Worlds Partnership Annual Forum 2026 will bring together Europe’s Virtual Worlds community on 2–3 November in Valencia, Spain, for two days of discussions, knowledge exchange and collaboration around the future of virtual worlds and immersive technologies.
Under the theme “Shaping the Future of Europe’s Virtual Worlds”, the Forum will bring together stakeholders from industry, research, academia and policy to discuss strategic priorities, emerging technologies, European policy and new opportunities for collaboration.
From strategy to real-world impact
The programme will open with discussions on the future of the Virtual Worlds Partnership and its strategic direction, followed by a round table dedicated to the Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda (SRIA) and the future of virtual worlds technologies.
The second day will feature the opening of EuroXR 2026 and a series of focused breakout sessions, providing opportunities to explore different aspects of the virtual worlds ecosystem and discuss future priorities and developments.
The Forum will also provide opportunities for networking and collaboration, including a brokerage event aimed at connecting potential partners for Horizon Europe and other funding opportunities, as well as opportunities to showcase innovative work to a pan-European audience.
A growing European ecosystem
Virtual worlds and immersive technologies are opening up new possibilities across research, industry, culture and society. The VWP Annual Forum aims to support this evolving ecosystem by creating a space where strategic priorities can be discussed, cross-sector connections can be strengthened and new collaborations can emerge.
The 2026 Forum will focus on turning the potential of virtual worlds into practical progress towards a more open, secure, trustworthy, fair and inclusive digital future for Europe.
The event is organised by the Virtual Worlds Partnership in collaboration with EuroXR, with support from European and local partners. It will take place at the Universitat Politècnica de València in Valencia.
