In recent years, digital access in the historical sciences has gained remarkable attention, particularly in the fields of digital editions and text processing. However, the discussion around digital access to material sources and the broader field of cultural heritage has been comparatively less articulated.
The University of Salzburg has a long-standing tradition of researching material culture through the use of digital tools and methods. Building on this foundation, the upcoming Digital History Conference, taking place in autumn 2026 at the Department of History, will place cultural heritage at its core embedding it in a wider discussion on “Doing Cultural Heritage.”
Researchers and professionals are invited to contribute to this exciting dialogue by submitting proposals for papers, posters, or workshops until 18 December 2025.
