Scope
TU Wien DigHum Summer School
Applications are open from April 28, 2026. The deadline to submit the applications is June 28, 2026, at 4.00 p.m. (Eastern European Time, EET).
Applicants are required to complete the Application Form and upload the following documents, clearly labelled with the applicant’s name:
1) Signed Application Letter (Annex 1);
2) Curriculum Vitae;
3) Short Motivation Letter;
4) Supporting Documents for each claimed eligibility criterion, issued by a responsible authority or accredited expert.
Applications must be submitted in English. Supporting documents may be submitted in English. If the provided documentation is insufficient, the Evaluation Committee may request additional information or reject the application.
Evaluation Committee
A Joint Evaluation Committee, appointed by TU Wien, will review all applications. The Committee will include:
● Representatives of TU Wien (4 persons)
● At least one student representative of TU Wien ;
● At least one representative from the EURIDICE consortium partners.
The Committee will finalize the evaluation by June 30.
The Joint Evaluation Committee will assess each application and assign points according to the following criteria:
1. Academic and Social Achievements
– Academic performance, scientific, volunteering, and social activities: 5- 20 points.
2. Certified Disabilities
– Based on verified disability documentation: 5 points.
3. Low Socio-Economic Background
– Applicants whose family income falls between the first quartile (Q1) and the median income (Q2) in their country of origin will receive will receive 5 points. The reference fiscal year is the year preceding the application.
All applications will be ranked based on the total number of points obtained across the four criteria. Each application may receive a maximum of 30 points in total. A total of 5 scholarships will be awarded.
The decision of the Evaluation Committee is final.
The list of selected scholarship recipients will be published on the EURIDICE website at TU Wien.
Purpose, Amount, and Duration of the Scholarship
TU Wien hereby announces a Call for Applications for the Digital Humanism Summer School 2026, this call is issued within the framework of the activities planned under the Project European Inclusive Education for Digital Society, Social Innovation and Global Citizenship (EURIDICE), and is intended for masters students and young researchers across different fields of study of specialized modules as produced under the EURIDICE project in the 2025/2026 academic year. The total budget allocated for this Call amounts to EUR 13.140,00.
The Scholarship Programme is designed to provide financial support to students participating in the Digital Humanism Summer School. Its objectives are to:
● support students from underprivileged or vulnerable backgrounds by providing them with equal access to international learning opportunities;
● promote inclusiveness, diversity, fairness, and gender balance in higher education;
● cover participation fee, accommodation and travel costs.
The scholarship also serves as a form of social support, helping students overcome personal or socio-economic barriers that hinder participation in international education.
The scholarship is awarded as a lump sum for a one-week period. There is no automatic entitlement or renewal.
The amount of the scholarship is EUR 1100.00 per external student (this lump sum covers participation fee, accommodation for six nights, and travel expenses to and from Vienna), or EUR 480 for students residing in Vienna.
Expected duration ofthe Scholarship Programme: 1 week.
Scholarships will be awarded based on the evaluation scores (see Article 5 – Awarding Criteria and Evaluation Procedure). A maximum of 30 points can be awarded per application.
Eligibility Criteria
1. Eligible applicants include all students from European countries and countries associated to DIGITAL EUROPE PROGRAMME who face financial challenges during their studies.
2. Students are also encouraged to apply if they meet one or more of the following criteria:
1. Students with Certified Disabilities
Students with certified disabilities may apply for a Summer School scholarship. According to Article 1 of the European Disability Policy, persons with disabilities are defined as those who have long-term physical, mental, intellectual or sensory impairments which in interaction with various barriers may hinder their full and effective participation in society on an equal basis with others. Applicants must provide certified medical documentation or proof of national disability status.
2. Students with Low Socio-Economic Backgrounds
Students from families with low socio-economic conditions are eligible to apply. Low socio- economic status is defined according to students’ family income. Required proofs include a tax statement, income certificate, or official social benefit statement.
This call (as well as the financial support that will be provided through it) is NOT an EU action. This call is launched solely by the TU Wien.
The financial support to the selected successful applicants will be provided directly by TU Wien in its own name and under its own responsibility. TU Wien’s own responsibility includes the preparation and drafting of this call as well as the selection of successful applicants that will receive the said financial support. The publication of this call in the EU Funding & Tenders Portal is made solely for information purposes with the aim to increase the visibility of this call to the general public, including to potential applicants (i.e. students). The said publication shall not be construed as direct or indirect approval of the content and conditions of this call by the relevant EU authorities or as any form of waiver from the above-described responsibility of TU Wien.
