Scope

This call for proposals aims to support the establishment of thematic and/or geographic touristic routes and the development of associated tourism ecosystems. The routes are expected to be fully functional and self-sustainable at the end of the co-funding period. The selected proposal will be required to reinforce the sector’s competitiveness by increasing its resilience and capacity to face unexpected crises and challenges. 

The ultimate objective is to enhance SMEs in their transition towards sustainable business models across the EU, becoming more competitive while fostering the green and digital transition, in line with the Transition Pathway for Tourism, the EU Pact for Skills  and the Council’s EU Agenda for Tourism 2030.

Expected Outcome:

Qualitative and quantitative indicators for the action:

a) Number of countries and partners participating in transnational cooperation projects.

b) Replicability of projects supported, as assessed by the consortia under supervision of EISMEA, and their relevance to the policy priorities as detailed in the Transition Pathway for Tourism.

c) Quality and impact of the dissemination by the consortia of the results, best practices and developed solutions.

d) Number of SMEs supported.

Scope:

This call for proposals aims at supporting SMEs strengthening business approaches and becoming more competitive while fostering the green and digital transition, in line with the Tourism Transition Pathway (under the Industrial Strategy Update (COM (2021)350 final).

The action is expected to contribute to increasing the sustainable competitiveness of the European Tourism ecosystem, namely for the Tourism SMEs, by providing support, including with the intermediary of consortia of organisations of the relevant tourism industry stakeholders, and building capacities of tourism companies, particularly SMEs. Within the ongoing co-implementation of the Tourism Transition Pathway, SMEs shall get support to reinforce their competitiveness. It aims to boost innovation, resilience, sustainability and quality along the tourism value chain.
