Help Shape the Future of Digital Collaboration in Cultural Heritage

The cultural heritage sector is entering a new digital era—and your voice can help lead the way.

The ECHOES Project, funded by the European Commission and supported by UK Research and Innovation, is laying the groundwork for the European Collaborative Cloud for Cultural Heritage (ECCCH). This platform will bring together professionals, institutions, researchers, and innovators across Europe to collaborate more effectively, streamline workflows, and unlock the full potential of digital heritage.

To ensure the Cloud is built with and for the community, ECHOES has launched a pan-European consultation aimed at gathering insights, needs, and expectations from a diverse range of stakeholders.

Why participate?

Whether you’re a museum curator, a digital solution provider, a tourism-focused SME, or a startup working with immersive tech (VR/AR/3D), this is your chance to contribute to a platform designed to serve you. The consultation will help ensure the Cloud reflects the real-world challenges and goals of those working at the intersection of cultural heritage and digital innovation.

Your participation will:

  • Influence the structure and features of the Cultural Heritage Cloud
  • Help identify barriers and opportunities in current digital workflows
  • Support the development of tools that serve your work, projects, and community

How to get involved

The consultation kicks off with a short online questionnaire, open to all cultural heritage stakeholders, including:

  • Heritage-based companies and cultural tourism SMEs
  • Creative industries and immersive tech startups
  • Destination management organisations
  • Digital providers and developers
  • Museums, archives, libraries, and galleries (GLAM)
  • Public bodies, research institutions, clusters, and networks

This initial survey builds upon methodologies from leading initiatives such as ESPADON, E-RIHS, ARIADNE RI, CLARIN, and PERCEIVE to ensure an inclusive and robust consultation process. Further engagement opportunities—including workshops, interviews, and focus groups—will follow.

The questionnaire will remain open until end of June 2025.
