INFINITY

Introducing INFINITY: Advancing Digital Cultural Heritage in Europe

Project title: INFINITY
Acronym: INFINITY
Duration: Start 1 January 2026 – 36 months

INFINITY is a European-funded project developed within the framework of the European Collaborative Cloud for Cultural Heritage (ECCCH). Its mission is to enhance how Digital Cultural Heritage Objects (DCHOs) are preserved, enriched, and reused by combining advanced technologies with strong ethical and methodological foundations.

The project addresses a growing challenge faced by cultural heritage institutions: the fragmentation, limited interoperability, and underutilization of digital heritage assets such as images, 3D models, documents, audiovisual materials, and complex datasets. INFINITY responds to this by developing AI-driven, semantic, and knowledge-based solutions that preserve contextual meaning, provenance, and authenticity while enabling reuse across research, education, and creative sectors.

Through a collaborative consortium of cultural institutions, research organizations, and technology partners across Europe, INFINITY promotes FAIR principles making cultural heritage data findable, accessible, interoperable, and reusable. At the same time, it places strong emphasis on ethical data practices, sustainability, and long-term value creation.

By contributing to INFINITY, the Time Machine Organisation supports a shared European vision: strengthening digital cultural heritage infrastructures and ensuring that Europe’s rich cultural assets remain accessible, meaningful, and usable for future generations.
