Overview
Ajapaik is an open source crowdsourcing platform for enriching historic pictures with additional metadata. Most of the content and user base is from Estonia, followed by Finnish content and users. Initially the platform focused on harvesting location metadata – users were invited to geotag the content and also rephotograph historic pictures for creating then and now picture pairs. More recently other tasks have been added – tagging and identifying people on the pictures, connecting duplicate images, categorizing pictures etc.
