Consolidation of family data from Leipzig is currently organized under the patronage of the Leipzig City Archives by a team of computer scientists, historians and genealogists.

With financial support by

The group Altes Leipzig is a private initiative organized by Torsten Wehlmann since 2010. The group assembles 3D data - documented in a parallel project - as well as family data mainly from printed sources (e.g. 19th century journals).

Family data from handwritten sources (parish registers) has been assembled and joined by Helga Moritz, a former employee of the State Archives, in her private time since the 1950s. The State Archives and CompGen have digitized this material in a joint crowdsourcing project since 2017.
