The MetaHeritage project has officially launched its Webinar Series: Unlocking EU Networks for Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Digital Innovation, designed to guide SMEs, clusters, and regional innovation stakeholders through the landscape of European collaboration, technology adoption, and funding opportunities.
Structured across several sessions, the series follows a clear path to help organisations align with regional strategies, engage with EU-wide networks, build cross-border partnerships, embrace smart technologies, and ultimately tap into European funding. Each webinar offers practical insights and direct connections to leading EU initiatives.
Strong Start: First Webinar Held on 6 November,2025
The first webinar, “S3 Community of Practice & Partnerships: Driving Regional Growth”, took place on 6 November from 10:00–11:00 CET and explored how the EU’s Smart Specialisation Strategy (S3) supports innovation-driven regional development.
Participants learned how SMEs can position themselves within S3 frameworks to:
- Align with regional priorities that attract EU and local funding,
- Join cross-border value chains,
- Collaborate on joint investment projects with other EU regions, and
- Influence future innovation roadmaps across cultural heritage, tourism, and digital innovation.
Speakers included representatives from the European Clusters Alliance, DG REGIO, the S3 Community of Practice, and leaders of S3 Thematic Partnerships, such as the Virtual and Smart Cultural Tourism Partnership. The session highlighted concrete pathways for SMEs to engage in European cooperation and take part in upcoming interregional initiatives.
Looking Ahead: Second Webinar on 4 December,2025
The next session, “European Cluster Collaboration Platform: Building Partnerships through Clusters”, will take place on 4 December, 10:00–11:00 CET.
This webinar will:
- Introduce the role of clusters as engines of innovation and regional growth,
- Explain how SMEs can benefit from Europe’s 130+ clusters active in tourism and the cultural and creative industries,
- Present the CR.EU.IN.HERITAGE Eurocluster and its funding opportunities, and
- Demonstrate how to use the European Cluster Collaboration Platform (ECCP) to connect with over 1,000 cluster organisations, discover funding opportunities, and promote activities at European level.
All stakeholders in cultural heritage, tourism, creative industries, and digital innovation are warmly invited to participate and build new collaborations through this open and accessible series.
