What is the intended scope of this service?

The Project Scouting Service supports projects carried out by members of the Time Machine Organisation as well as projects with direct participation of the Time Machine Organisation as consortium partner.

Do all consortium members in supported project consortia have to be member of the Time Machine Organisation?

No, only the supported consortium member has to be either a regular or a funding member of the Time Machine Organisation.

Does the Time Machine Organisation allow subcontracting of Time Machine network partners?

No, the Time Machine Organisation may not subcontract any partners of the Time Machine network.

Does a project involving Time Machine members need to formally ask for endorsement or support by the Time Machine Organisation?

No, this is not mandatory, of course. A formal request may only be needed in case a dedicated Letter of Interest or consortium involvement of the Time Machine Organisation is required.

In case of a requested involvement by the Time Machine Organisation in project consortia: How does the Organisation choose consortia to be supported?

A formal mechanism and quality criteria for this process is currently being developed.

In which cases does the Time Machine Organisation coordinate project proposals?

The Time Machine Organisation supports those strategical proposals only in which the Organisation acts as consortium coordinator. This coordination function will either be fulfilled by the Organisation itself or via a mandate by a specific person or institution.

How does the Time Machine Organisation ensure participatory and transparent workflows of project proposals coordinated by the Organisation?

Mechanisms for participative selection of mandatees and a construction of a mandate (e.g. definition of obligations, reporting, involvement in TMO in critical decisions) are currently under development.

Does the Time Machine Organisation support multiple project proposals in the same call?

No. The Time Machine Organisation may only support one project proposal per call.

Does the Time Machine Organisation finance proposal writing?

The Time Machine Organisation can only cover it’s own expenses (e.g. for work package writing). For project proposals coordinated by the Organisation, it may cover expenses depending on the mandate.

How long before a call deadline does the Project Scouting Service have to be contacted?

The Project Scouting Service has to be contacted at least 8 weeks prior to the proposal deadline.

Who is carrying out the operational work of the Project Scouting Service?

The Project Scouting Service is being handled by the Project Funding Hub of the Time Machine Organisation and supervised by the Executive Board of the Time Machine Organisation.
